Basic rules for decorating walls
Two-thirds rule
If you're going to hang one or more pictures above a piece of furniture, sofa, or as a headboard, they should be at least two-thirds the size of the furniture or item below them. In other words, they shouldn't be noticeably longer than the furniture or sofa.
Calculate the following: divide the length of the furniture by 3, and multiply that result by 2.

Distance for hanging your pictures
It's important that your artwork complements the decor. When hanging a picture above a piece of furniture , leave approximately 15 to 30 cm of space between the furniture and the picture.
Spacing between frames
The spacing you should leave between frames will be proportional to their size. The larger they are, the greater the distance between them.
The minimum separation is 5-10 cm.
Apply the two-thirds rule if the pictures are hung above any decorative element.
