You wish to decorate your home with paintings and design items, but you just move in and don't feel like damaging the walls. Or, maybe, you don't have a drill, or you are renting and can't do it. Here we propose different easy methods to hang your artworks without making holes.
If you want to hang a painting without nails or drilling, these are the cheapest, fastest and easiest options:
Double-sided tape for hanging
There are many adhesive tape brands and types in this category: ultra-thin, very thick, and more or less resistant. The thicker the poster or picture, the stronger the tape should be. For a 300-gram poster, for example, I recommend a thin tape While, for a photo frame or an unframed cork map, a thicker and more resistant double-sided version. In both cases, here are the steps to follow:
1. First, make sure the wall is clean and smooth.
2. Peel off one side and stick it to the frame on all four corners to stick better.
3. Then peel off the other side and apply pressure for about 30 seconds to adhere perfectly to the wall.
Velcro tapes for hanging pictures
Adhesive Velcro tape is stronger than double-sided tape, so it can bear more weight. It is also resistant to moisture. Like conventional Velcro tape, it consists of two parts, one to be stuck to the wall and the other to the frame. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Clean the surface where it will be glued.
2. Peel off one part and stick it to the frame. If it is a small frame, you will only need one fixing point. If it is larger than 30 × 40 cm, put one at the top and one at the bottom.
3. Attach the other part of the Velcro to the one already attached to the frame and peel it off.
4. Place it on the wall and apply pressure for about 30 seconds to stick it correctly.
*We recommend you first mark the position of the wall by using a level (if you don't have one, you can download some Apps for your mobile).
We recommend using this method for hanging…
-Frames or pictures weighing up to 4.5 kg. With more than 2.5 kg, use two fixing points.
-Objects weighing between 2.5 kg and 4.5 kg.
Suitable wall types and coverings :
-Any smooth wall
-Plasterboard wall (plasterboard)
- Wall tiles
Not suitable for the following walls:
-Wallpaper (can be torn)
- Brick wall
-Popcorn wall (not being smooth, it doesn’t adhere well)
Adhesive hooks for hanging frames
You wonder how to hang a picture on the wall with hooks attached, whether they are sawtooth hangers, brackets or ring-shaped. The best way to do it without drilling the wall is by using adhesive hooks. Follow these easy steps and enjoy decorating your home:
1. Place your composition on the floor with the frames upside down to see the hooks.
2. Measure the distances between the hooks.
3. Transfer the measurements to the wall using a tape measure and a pencil.
4. Stick the adhesive hooks on and hang your artwork.
Tip: Use a spirit level to ensure the frame is straight (there are levelling apps on iPhone and Android). If you choose not to use this tool, you can use a tape measure and mark the distance between the two hooks with a pencil.

How to hang your frames with clip-rails
You probably saw it while visiting museums or art galleries, where it is a commonly used method. It is super practical, especially if you often change the arrangement of your pictures.
The wires are usually attached to a rail placed on the upper part of the wall. The advantage is that they are suitable for any type of wall, so you don't need to damage it or drill holes. See how to do it here.
